Welcome back!

September 1, 2021
prayer-to-start-school

The first day of school is an exciting time of year.

Teachers and staff have been in schools getting everything ready for the return of students. We'll be welcoming elementary students September 1 (students with last names beginning with letters A- K) and September 2 (students with last names beginning with letters L-Z). High school students will also have a staggered start, with different grades returning at different times on September 1. Check your schools website for details (see a list of schools).

Some safety measures from last year will remain in place to help keep students and staff safe during the pandemic. Read the division Safe School Plan. We are excited to be able to welcome parents and caregivers back into our schools. Visitors must be feeling well and wear masks. Check with your school for school-specific information for visitors.

As a community of faith, we pray for a good start to a new year:

Lord Jesus, I ask for Your help as I begin this new school year.
Allow me to experience Your presence in the many blessings You put before me.
Open my eyes to the new challenges and exciting opportunities that this new school year brings.
Open my heart and mind to new friends, new teachers, new colleagues and new community members.
Give me a generous spirit to share my knowledge, gifts and talents.
Help me to be attentive and let me experience Your presence in others.
Jesus, inspire me to do my best this year!
Amen
