Behaviour Support Programs
September 23, 2025
Behaviour Support Programs provide individualized programming for students requiring intensive support with complex social-emotional and behavioural needs.
These programs:
- foster independence, self-regulation, and academic success;
- use a combination of classroom integration, targeted instruction, and collaborative support; and
- involve families, school staff, and outside agencies.
Alternative programs are also available to provide a balanced environment that promotes both academic progress and social skill development. Teachers continually monitor and adapt strategies using the Student Learning Model. A transition may be considered once job-embedded supports have been fully implemented and the student requires programming that extends beyond what can be offered at the school level.
