When do you hire?

We hire for positions year-round in accordance with the needs of the division. View current job opportunities.

When does your spring staffing process for teaching positions begin?

The staffing process for the upcoming school year begins in February and continues until all positions are filled.

I’m not Catholic. Should I still apply?

As a Catholic school division, preference is given to Catholic candidates. However, we give consideration to non-Catholic candidates in a variety of specialty areas. We also recognize the significance of developing a representative workforce that reflects the communities we serve; competencies in other languages, cultures, and traditions are qualities we appreciate in applicants.

Are there professional development opportunities available for staff?

Absolutely. As a learning community, we are always growing in knowledge. Professional development funding and learning opportunities are available to all staff. Connect with a member of Human Resources for more information.

Am I required to submit a pastoral/faith reference at the time of application?

Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools is committed to fostering the spiritual growth of our students and staff members. As such, we welcome applications from teachers formed in Catholic faith & practice as well as from teachers who seek continued growth in the faith. As part of the interview process, we invite you to share your faith journey with us. We, in turn, will support you as you pass on Catholic faith & practice to our students.

You may proceed with the process of seeking a faith reference at the time of application. Alternatively, should you wish to seek guidance on the process of obtaining a faith reference, we would be happy to do so at the time of interview.

Please Note: Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools recognizes the effects of colonization and residential schools on First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples, and the resulting impact on relationships with the Church. Further, we recognize the importance of the relationship many of our staff and applicants have with Elders in our communities. The guidance, support and connection Elders provide to traditional First Nations, Métis, and Inuit teachings and spirituality is welcomed and respected. We invite First Nations, Métis and Inuit candidates to alternatively submit a reference letter from an Elder (under Resume/Document Attachments). Please contact Human Resources at Humanresource@gscs.ca should you have any questions regarding this process.

What makes GSCS an employer of choice?
