Chapel News
Jesus is now present in the tabernacle in the Chapel. The reserved consecrated eucharist from the Grade 11 Mass is in the tabernacle, and you will notice that the tabernacle light is on. Please keep this in mind when you are visiting our Chapel for prayer or reflection. God bless you.

Math Contests
There will be a meeting for those interested in Math Contests for the year. Attend one of the following dates at lunch in Room 365: Wed. Oct. 1 OR Thurs. Oct. 2. Meeting will start at 12:15.
Grades 9-12 are welcome.
OPENING MASS, Grade 10s and 11s:
Today during P5 (Gr 10) we will be celebrating Mass in the Theater. Here are some things to remember:
- Leave your phones, earbuds, and anything else that will distract you in your classroom.
- Leave your backpacks, and jackets in the classroom.
- Do NOT bring any food or drinks into the Theater.
- This is a special occasion. Wear your Holy Cross clothing, and dress appropriately for worship.
- All responses and words for songs will be projected on the screens so that you can joyfully participate.
- During the Communion Rite, those who have received the sacrament of Holy Communion are welcome to receive the host. Everyone else will be welcomed to receive a blessing. It is important that everyone participates so that we can process smoothly during this time.
- This is a time for community prayer and reflection. Enjoy this opportunity.
Orange Shirt Sales
This week we will be selling Holy Cross custom designed shirts that former Living in Harmony students created over the past few years. We will be selling the shirts and hoodies for $15 each. Select sizes available. Stop by the main office this week to purchase. Our next Orange Shirt days will be Friday September 26th and Monday September 29th!
Student Volunteering opportunity
We need a few student volunteers to help on Wednesday September 24. Please come to the main office to sign up.

CALLING ALL GRADE 9's!
If you’re interested in participating in fun activities, connecting with others, and building valuable skills, then the Grade 9 Guidance Club is for you. Through our student-led activities, the club will also provide Grade 9's with a pathway to future leadership roles in the club. So, come down to ROOM 113 (Ms. Rowe’s Classroom) on Thursday September 25th at noon to participate in our first club meeting of the school year.
Photo Retakes
Monday, September 29th is our photo retake day starting at 8:30 am in the library.
The library will be closed all day for this. The schedule for retakes will be as follows:
Period 1 - Grade 9 students
Period 2 - Grade 12 students
Period 3 - Grade 10 students
Period 4 - Grade 11 students
Period 5 - last call for photos, anyone who was missed
"Going Places" Travel Club
Mr. Wihak and Mrs. Park invite current grade 10's and 11's to an information session for students on Wednesday Sept 24th OR Thursday Sept 25th to come and get the details on our Italy and Greece 2027 trip!! We are excited to get this community travel club started. We will be having a parent information night at a later date (October 9th), this meeting will give you an introduction to the details as well as information to take home to your parents to discuss and consider. Driver’s Ed
Please remember to check the Driver’s Ed bulletin board near Student Services for your drive times.
Also on shortened Thursdays, Driver’s Ed classes run from 12:30 – 3:30 in Room 354.
Protect your belongings!
An important reminder please do not leave your personal belongings unattended at school. Lock up your belongings in the PE change rooms and in your school lockers. Do not bring valuables to school. The school is not responsible for missing items.
Scent-free School
Reminder to all students that Holy Cross is a scent-free building. Please refrain from using excessive amounts of perfumes, colognes or body sprays which would impact those around you who have allergies to strong scents.
Library News
The library will be closed to all students in p.2 for the month of September, there will be a math class being taught during this time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Homework Hall Tutorial
Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place each lunch hour in Room 341 (Mr. Heath's room). All students are welcome to attend.
Music
There is a FULL CHOIR practice TODAY in the theatre.
Cafeteria
** Cafeteria lunch cards are currently not working properly, so please bring cash or debit. We are working to fix the problem so they can be used in the future.
The following items will be available daily at the cafeteria:
Burgers, sandwiches, subs, wraps, baking and various snacks.

Drama
Alice in Wonderland
Call backs will now happen Thursday, Sept 25 after school. You will be contacted through Edsby messages only if you are needed for a call back by Tuesday evening. New "sides" will be provided for you on Wednesday.
Alice in Wonderland t-shirt and poster design
For anyone interested in submitting a design for the Alice in Wonderland production t-shirts and/or posters, there will be a brief informational meeting TODAY at noon in Room 92 (art room). Open to all. Contact Ms. Butler (Ramsay) with any questions or if you cannot make the meeting.
Clubs
SADD
Throughout the school year, Students Against Drinking & Driving (SADD) brings awareness to the severe consequences of distracted driving. We are looking for committed leaders that would like to help plan different events around our school to promote safe driving. Holy Cross has the only SADD chapter in Saskatoon. We meet about once a month. Our first meeting will be at lunch on Thursday, September 25th in room 102. Hope to see you there!
Debate Club
Debate Club meeting in room 103, Mr. Malin's room, Friday at lunch for those interested. Bring a friend.
Bible Study Group
Our first gathering will be Thursday, September 25, at lunch in Room 241 (Lepage/Dale). Bring your lunch and get ready for some great scripture time! Stay up to date by checking the Edsby group site.
Holy Cross Youth Alliance
The Youth Alliance is back! This group is for our 2SLGBTQ+ Students and Allies! It focuses on advocacy and support for all our students and staff here, regardless of their identity. We meet every Thursday during noon hour in room 361. Join us for our 10th year of being a club at Holy Cross, a school where everyone belongs! ❤️
Rosary group
The Rosary will be prayed in the Chapel on Mondays at 12:15, rosaries and copies of the prayers will be provided. Rosaries will be made on Wednesdays after school in Room 241 from 3:20-4:35. You can count 1.25 hours toward your CAP for each session attended (4 sessions = 5 hours). Please contact Mrs. Dale if you have any questions.
Film Club
Come down to room 121 for Film Club, where every Monday we review trailers and talk about upcoming films! We have discussions, games, movies, and more!
Book Club
Looking for Your Next Great Read?
Join the HCHS's Book Club and discover new worlds with fellow students who love to read. We’re all about great books, good conversation, and an escape from the usual routine.
We meet on the last Tuesday of every month during lunch in classroom 102. Bring your lunch and a list of your favorite books, and we’ll pick 2-3 to read for the month.
Games Club
All those students interested in playing board games and card games over lunch hour are invited to come out and play in Room 122 Tuesday – Friday. If you do not know how to play, you will learn. See Mr. Allen for more information.
Chess Club
- All levels of ability welcomed.
- We will be playing tournaments with other schools this year.
- Come stop by room 333 during lunch hours to come learn and play.

If you would like to work as the down and distance / sticks markers for the game you will get paid! Or you can get volunteer hours. See Mr. Kawa or Mr. Sadoway today in the Phys Ed office.

School Nurse
Our school nurse is Jenna, RN, BSN, IBCLC. She is here at Holy Cross High School on Monday afternoons from 12:30 – 4:00 pm. All visits with the school nurse are confidential. The school nurse can help you with:
- Confidential one-on-one student supports with medical & health related matters.
- Referrals to other community agencies/supports
- General First Aid
- Confidential pregnancy testing and other supports as needed
- Students are also able to text the school nurse at 306-230-2483. Look for the School Nurse sign in the school hallway and stop in to say hello!
