Lockers
Please check My School Sask in your portal to see your locker number. You must put a blue school-issued lock on your locker before the end of the day Wednesday, September 10th.
Scent-free School
Reminder to all students that Holy Cross is a scent-free building. Please refrain from using excessive amounts of perfumes, colognes or body sprays which would impact those around you who have allergies to strong scents.
Library News
The library will be closed to all students in p.2 for the month of September, there will be a math class being taught during this time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Holy Cross Clothing
Holy Cross Clothing will be on sale Tuesday Sept. 9th and Wednesday Sept. 10th at 🕛noon hour. Look for us outside the library 📚near the front doors. We accept cash💵, credit 💳, cheque ✒️, and debit🏧.
Volleyball Officials
If you are a Volleyball Player or have experience with Volleyball and would like to be a minor official, please see Mr. Heath (RM #341) to sign up. Senior Games are paid, and Junior Games can contribute to service hours.
Homework Hall Tutorial
Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place each lunch hour in Room 341 (Mr. Heath's room). All students are welcome to attend!
SRC Welcome Week Events
Tuesday September 9th
- Grade 9 Bingo. Pick up your bingo cards at the SRC kiosk in the cafeteria at the start of lunch.
- Holy Cross Clothing sale.
Wednesday September 10th
- Club/Teams fair in the cafeteria at lunch. Come check out the different sports and clubs Holy Cross has to offer.

Thursday September 11th
- Senior Football Game at 5:15pm @ SMF vs BJM. Wear green and white.
- Welcome Week Pep Rally in Period 5 – make sure to wear your Crusader gear or the school colors
Friday September 12th – Welcome Back Bash!
- Staff vs. Seniors Flag Football game at lunch on Crusader Field. Please bring a picnic blanket to share with your friends as seating will be limited. Any Seniors interested in participating in the Flag Football game please sign up on the Holy Cross Instagram page.
- Face Painting. Any grade 12’s willing to face paint at the Welcome Back Bash please sign up with Mrs. Buzinski in Room 381.
- Grade 9 Transition sidewalk chalk/ paint competition.
- Food Trucks which include the following:

Music
Toronto & Niagara Falls Music Tour Meeting - A mandatory meeting will be held for travelers and their parents on Sept. 10 @6:30 pm in the theater.

Clubs
Rosary group
The Rosary will be prayed in the Chapel on Mondays at 12:15, rosaries and copies of the prayers will be provided. Rosaries will be made on Wednesdays after school in Room 241 from 3:20-4:35. You can count 1.25 hours toward your CAP for each session attended (4 sessions = 5 hours). Please contact Mrs. Dale if you have any questions.
LYNGr
The Love Your Neighbour Group (LYNGr) is a social justice group that supports our local and global neighbours. Stop by our table at the Clubs Fair on Wednesday or see Mrs. Dale for more details. Our Fall Campaign will be starting soon, and you can earn CAP hours for your work on our projects.
Holy Cross Bible Group
The Holy Cross Bible Group meets in the Chapel to discuss scripture and share our faith journeys. Please stop by our table at the Clubs Fair on Wednesday to find out when we will have our first gathering. We supply the Bibles and snacks!

Living in Harmony
Living in Harmony is a student and staff club at Holy Cross dedicated to bringing the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action to life in our school community. Our group includes both Indigenous and non-Indigenous members, and everyone is welcome to join!
Together, we:
- Organize school-wide events
- Learn about Indigenous ways of knowing
- Invite Elders and Knowledge Keepers to share their wisdom
- And much more!
Join us for our first meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 9th at lunch in Room 294. (To find the room: enter through the theatre, take the last door on the left, and head upstairs.)
We hope to see you there as we learn, grow, and walk this journey in harmony!
Light & Sound
If you are interested in all the behind the scenes work for events like the theatre productions and pep rallies, please check out the Light and Sound booth at the club fair.
Film Club
Come down to room 121 for Film Club, where every Monday we review trailers and talk about upcoming films! We have discussions, games, movies, and more!
Games Club
All those students interested in playing board games and card games over lunch hour are invited to come out and play in Room 122 starting September 9th. If you do not know how to play, you will learn. See Mr. Allen for more information.
Chess Club
- All levels of ability welcomed.
- We will be playing tournaments with other schools this year.
- Come stop by room 333 during lunch hours to come learn and play.
Athletics
Blue Boys Volleyball Tryouts (Grade 9 & 10)
Everyone is welcome to try out -no matter your skill or experience level.
Please sign up using the QR code in the PE hallway.
Tryout schedule:
Tuesday September 9 North Gym 5-6:30pm
You MUST come dressed to play volleyball. You must wear gym clothes (athletic clothes), indoor running shoes, bring a water bottle, show up on time, and please DO NOT wear any club gear. If you forget and wear your club gear, you will be asked to change. If you have nothing to change into and therefore cannot tryout, this will impact your chances of making the team.
If you have any questions or concerns, please see Mrs. Arthurs in the PE department.

- Grade 12 Visits - The counsellors will be doing a presentation in all grade 12 English and French Immersion classes on September 10th. Our goal is to present to every grade 12 to give you the tools for finishing high school and planning for next year. If you miss this presentation or are not in one of these classes, there will be an extra presentation for students that missed at lunch on Thursday September 11th. PLEASE ATTEND one of these.

School Nurse
Our school nurse is Jenna, RN, BSN, IBCLC. She is here at Holy Cross High School on Monday afternoons from 12:30 – 4:00 pm. All visits with the school nurse are confidential. The school nurse can help you with:
- Confidential one-on-one student supports with medical & health related matters.
- Referrals to other community agencies/supports
- General First Aid
- Confidential pregnancy testing and other supports as needed
- Students are also able to text the school nurse at 306-230-2483. Look for the School Nurse sign in the school hallway and stop in to say hello!
