General Notices 

Scent-free school

Reminder to all students that Holy Cross is a scent-free building.  Please refrain from using excessive amounts of perfumes, colognes or body sprays which would impact those around you who have allergies to strong scents.


Library News

The library will be closed to all students in p.2 for the month of September, there will be a math class being taught during this time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

 

Holy Cross Clothing

Holy Cross Clothing will be on sale Tuesday Sept. 9th and Wednesday Sept. 10th at 🕛noon hour. Look for us outside the library 📚near the front doors. We accept cash💵, credit 💳, cheque ✒️, and debit🏧.

 

Volleyball Officials

If you are a Volleyball Player or have experience with Volleyball and would like to be a minor official, please see Mr. Heath (RM #341) to sign up. Senior Games are paid, and Junior Games can contribute to service hours.

 

Music

Toronto & Niagara Falls Music Tour Meeting - A mandatory meeting will be held for travelers and their parents on Sept. 10 @6:30 pm in the theater. 


Cafeteria

The following items will be available daily at the cafeteria: 

Burgers, sandwiches, subs, wraps, baking and various snacks.

Clubs

Living in Harmony

Living in Harmony is a student and staff club at Holy Cross dedicated to bringing the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action to life in our school community. Our group includes both Indigenous and non-Indigenous members, and everyone is welcome to join!

Together, we:

  • Organize school-wide events
  • Learn about Indigenous ways of knowing
  • Invite Elders and Knowledge Keepers to share their wisdom
  • And much more!

Join us for our first meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 9th at lunch in Room 294. (To find the room: enter through the theatre, take the last door on the left, and head upstairs.) 

We hope to see you there as we learn, grow, and walk this journey in harmony!

Film Club

Come down to room 121 for Film Club, where every Monday we review trailers and talk about upcoming films! We have discussions, games, movies, and more!


Games Club

All those students interested in playing board games and card games over lunch hour are invited to come out and play in Room 122 starting September 9th. If you do not know how to play, you will learn. See Mr. Allen for more information.


Chess Club

 - All levels of ability welcomed.

- ‎ We will be playing tournaments with other schools this year. 

- ‎Come stop by room 333 during lunch hours to come learn and play.


Outdoor Ed Fall Canoe Trip

Calling all paddlers, our first meeting for our Fall Canoe Trip this year will be on TODAY, September 4th, at lunch in room 313 (IA). Anyone who is interested MUST attend this meeting to receive the information. If you cannot attend, please speak to Mr. Rapin, Mrs. Rodych, or Mr. Wihak.

Holy Cross Cross Country

Cross Country Mini Meet #1 is today after school at Harold Tatler Park.  Meet starts at 4:15. We are still looking for runners to join our team.  Everyone is welcome.  $60 to join.  Come to room 103 for more details. Next practice is on Monday, starting at 3:30.


Blue Boys Volleyball Tryouts (Grade 9 & 10)

Everyone is welcome to try out -no matter your skill or experience level.

Please sign up using the QR code in the PE hallway.

Volleyball tryouts Thursday September 4 at 3:30pm SHARP in the SOUTH GYM

Tryout schedule:

Friday    September 5 South gym 3:30-5pm

Monday   September 8 South Gym 5-6:30pm

Tuesday   September 9 North Gym 5-6:30pm

You MUST come dressed to play volleyball. You must wear gym clothes (athletic clothes), indoor running shoes, bring a water bottle, show up on time, and please DO NOT wear any club gear. If you forget and wear your club gear, you will be asked to change. If you have nothing to change into and therefore cannot tryout, this will impact your chances of making the team.

If you have any questions or concerns, please see Mrs. Arthurs in the PE department.

Continue to look at the wall outside of the big gym for more information. Schedules and information will be posted there.

  • USASK Open house - Friday Sept 19th 2025 - A great event!! Registration fills up fast so register NOW! www.admissions.usask.ca 
  • Grade 12 Visits - The counsellors will be doing a presentation in all grade 12 English and French Immersion classes on September 9th and 10th. Our goal is to present to every grade 12 to give you the tools for finishing high school and planning for next year. If you miss this presentation or are not in one of these classes, there will be an extra presentation for students that missed at lunch on Thursday September 11th.  PLEASE ATTEND one of these.

School Nurse

Our school nurse is Jenna, RN, BSN, IBCLC. She is here at Holy Cross High School on Monday afternoons from 12:30 – 4:00 pm. All visits with the school nurse are confidential. The school nurse can help you with:

  • Confidential one-on-one student supports with medical & health related matters.
  •           Referrals to other community agencies/supports
  •           General First Aid
  •           Confidential pregnancy testing and other supports as needed
  • Students are also able to text the school nurse at 306-230-2483. Look for the School Nurse sign in the school hallway and stop in to say hello!
