NEW NOTICES
 
Welcome to semester 2 Bethlehem Stars!  A few start of semester reminders:
Cellphones are not permitted during class time. This includes headphones and earbuds. Taking photos or recording videos or audio of others without their consent is not permitted.  
 
No hoods permitted when inside the school. Please remove when entering the school.  
 
 Shaw Centre and Tommy Douglas are off limit to students during the school day.  The doors to the Shaw Centre are not to be used as an entrance/exit to and from Bethlehem by students at any time during the day. 
 
Please be reminded of the Hallway Permission procedures as well as the Attendance Guidelines (see below).

 ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS:

Would you like to get involved with the Grade 8 school visits on Thursday, Feb 5th and help by being a tour guide?  Your job would be to help our SRC team to lead a group of 25 Grade 8 students around Bethlehem high school telling them information about each area.  If interested, please come to a sign up / info meeting in room 405 Maclab this Friday at lunch! 

Talk to Mr. Buttinger with questions.

SEWING STUDENTS
Reminder for all semester 1 sewing students to please come to the sewing room to pick up your final projects. Anything left after Friday February 6 will be thrown out. 


MICHIF MONDAYS
With Mônôk (uncle) Samson starting Monday February 2! Come out at lunch on Mondays in the month of February to learn the language of the Metis people. We will be diving into different dialects - Northern and Southern focusing on greetings, how to introduce yourself in Michif and beginner conversation. Meetings will be Monday February 2, 9, and 23 in room 118. (2)


 E.D. FEEHAN CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM
There will be a presentation about the E.D. Feehan Construction program on Tuesday February 3rd at 12:20. If your are interested in building or interior finishing a house, this may be for you. You can sign up outside the I.A. Office doors. (3)


 OUTDOOR ED - SKI TRIP TO TABLE MOUNTAIN

We have a mandatory meeting before the trip.  We are offering you two dates for this meeting.  You are obliged to come on only one of these days.  
Thursday January 29th OR Friday January 30th at lunch in room 107.  Bring your lunch.  (30)


 BETHLEHEM HOCKEY

Are you interested in learning how to play hockey? We've got a team for that! Hockey for beginners. Priority given to grade 9 students - boys and girls welcome. Season begins in March with games happening during the week after school. Gear and transportation is provided. Come see Mrs. Hoffart in room 118 to register or ask questions. Deadline to register is February 13. (30)

LAND-BASED LEARNING
Are you interested in learning about Indigenous ways of life, ceremony (sweat lodge, powwow, round dance, feast), medicine harvesting? There will be many opportunities coming in February and March to dive deeper in culture and to learn the traditional ways of our ancestors. Come see Mrs. Hoffart in room 118 with questions or to sign up.
