Pre-Kindergarten 2024-25

Applications are now being accepted for the 2024-25 Pre-kindergarten program at St. Angela School.

Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools offers FREE ministry-funded pre-kindergarten programs for 3 and 4 year-old children in targeted school areas. Each classroom has a professional teacher and an educational associate.

Our program runs half days from Monday to Thursday with some Fridays targeted for family engagement activities.

Families interested in applying for a program can call us 306-659-7250.

Thank you for your interest in Pre-Kindergarten at St. Angela’s School

The application process:

  • Pre-Kindergarten is not a first come, first serve program. The intention is to ensure we are providing spaces for those who are most in need of these spaces. There are many factors we look at including English as an additional language, no access to daycare or other early learning programs, speech and language concerns, and if you live in our area.
  • Once your application is received it will be reviewed by the classroom teacher/school team.
  • If you have applied for the current school year you will be put on a waitlist. When there is a space available, the teacher will contact you for a visit and to set up a start date for your child.
  • If you have applied for the following school year, selections will be made following our Open House on June, 2024. All families will be contacted so you know if you have been accepted into the program or if you will be put on a waitlist. We have limited spaces in the class. When a child leaves the program (for example, if they move) then the space is filled by another child on the waitlist.

What can you do now?

  • Come to our open house.  Date to be determined sometime in June 2024. You can meet the teacher, see the classroom, and ask any questions you may have.
  • If you cannot come to our Open House that is ok, selected families have visits prior to beginning school. You can also make other arrangements by contacting the school.
  • Keep your contact information up to date. If it changes, please let us know.

What happens next?

  • In the fall, the teacher will contact you to set up a family visit. This is time to meet you and your child, share information, and determine a start date. Please note, not all children start the same day and Pre-K does not have the first day of classes the same day as the rest of the school. We are lucky to have a gentle entry so we can devote a little more time to all those big feelings that come with the first day of school.

  • If you have applied through the year, the teacher will contact you to arrange a visit and we decide on a start date.

If you have further questions, please contact the school at (306) 659-7250 or email me at AGratia@gscs.ca

or call the school office at (306) 659-7250.
