Library News
The library will be closed on Monday September 28th period 1-3 for photo-retakes or for any students who have not had their photo taken.
Edge School Photo Retakes
Photo Retake Day is Monday, September 28 in the library. If you would like to get a retake, we will call students down by grade and last name to the library throughout the day.
Math Contests for Gr 9-12 – Meeting TODAY
Are you interested in applying to elite STEM programs in the future? Are you an out-of-the-box thinker? Consider expanding your math skills and pushing yourself to do the University of Waterloo Math Contests! Come to a meeting this TODAY in Room 376 (new portables by science) to learn more info! Bannock Sale
One of our Truth and Reconciliation Day activities on Sept 29 at Holy Cross will be a Bannock sale during the 10:51 morning break. (Bannock is being supplied by CUMFI - Central Urban Metis Federation Inc.) Each piece of bannock will be sold for $3.00, with the profits going to awâsisak kâ-nîmîhtocik St. Francis school. Cash or tap accepted. See you there!

Student Media Release
Please fill out our GSCS Media Release form. One Media Consent form is now "valid" for the entire duration of each student's time at a school. If a student transfers to a new school, a new form will have to be completed, including transitioning from elementary to high school.

Orange Shirt Day – Tuesday September 29th
Wear orange to support the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Join us on September 29 for a special Truth and Reconciliation Week Breaking Performance presented by Circle of Fifths / The Spot Arts Community.

Get ready for head spins, power moves, footwork, and good vibes as Métis youth breakers, ages 5 to 15, showcase the energy, creativity, and athleticism of breaking. Through dynamic performances, these young artists celebrate movement, culture, resilience, and community while honoring the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation.
Come experience an inspiring blend of high-energy dance, cultural pride, and youth leadership. All students and staff are welcome!
Community Travel Club - Easter Travel 2027
Want to travel with your friends? Want to travel to Hong Kong for 11 days, over the Easter break? We are currently looking for Holy Cross students to join our community travel group for the Easter break 2027.

Extended Leave Forms
If you are going to miss 4 or more days of school, you must complete an extended leave form from the main office. Please pick up the form 2 weeks in advance to allow time to complete the form and connect with teachers.
Homework Hall Tutorial
Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place every lunch hour in Room 332. All students are welcome to attend; it does not have to be assigned to you – you can just drop in.
Driver’s Ed
Please make sure to check the Driver’s Ed bulletin board for the driving schedule.

Volunteer
CAP OPPORTUNITY: September 25-26, Saskatoon
- Step Up for Mental Health is a 21.1KM, 10KM and 5KM run/walk on Sept. 25-26 in Saskatoon, with all proceeds to mental health charities in Saskatchewan. 17 charities received granting from this event last year
- Nearly $3 million has been donated to mental health charities in the last 6 years, making it the largest mental health fundraising event in Saskatchewan history. Volunteers are required for the following shifts at TCU Place:
- Friday, Sept. 25: 4-8 p.m. (Supper will be provided)
- Saturday, Sept. 26: 6:45 am-11:00am
- Saturday, Sept. 26: 11:00a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

On Thursday, October 1, our friends at Stensrud need our help!
After school, beginning at 12:45 p.m., students who are interested in helping with yard cleanup are invited to join me and a few students from Walter Murray as we winterize Stensrud's courtyard.

Pray the Rosary
Every Monday at 12:15 in the Chapel. We have rosaries, and rosary pamphlets to make this a prayerful experience for you. Please join us for this time of community prayer.
Rosary Group
Our Rosary Group meets every Wednesday after school from 3:15-4:45 in the Chapel to make rosaries that are donated around the world. One Wednesday will earn you 1.5 CAP hours. Please contact Mrs. Dale if you have any questions.
The Knitting and Stitching Club
We will be launching our first after school session on Thursday October 1, beginning at 3:30. Bring your knitting, your crochet, your friendship bracelets and come stitch for a while! See you there!

Faith and Science
We meet at lunch TODAY to discuss format and pick up our first reading, “The Unreasonable Effectiveness of Mathematics in the Natural Sciences.” Come out to see what we are all about and plan our first official meeting!

Global Bridges
Global Bridges is a group that will be focused on racial justice and promoting cultural understanding within our school. The next group meeting will be next week, Thursday, September 24th at lunch in room 400 (Mr. Cratty's room). It is upstairs in the new portables.
Youth Alliance
The Youth Alliance Club is a group for the 2SLGBTQ+ community and their allies. Hosted in Room 361, this safe and inclusive space meets every other Thursday all year!

School Nurse
Our school nurse is Jenna, RN, BSN, IBCLC. She is here at Holy Cross High School on Monday afternoons from 12:30 – 4:00 pm. All visits with the school nurse are confidential. The school nurse can help you with:
- Confidential one-on-one student supports with medical & health related matters.
- Referrals to other community agencies/supports.
- General First Aid
- Confidential pregnancy testing and other supports as needed.
- Students are also able to text the school nurse at 306-230-2483. Look for the School Nurse sign in the school hallway and stop in to say hello!
Shad Canada is now accepting applications for its 2027 pre-university summer program. Open to current Grade 10 and 11 students, Shad offers a unique month-long experience focused on STEAM, entrepreneurship, leadership, and campus life. Financial assistance is available, with one in three students receiving support. Early application deadline November 8. Final application deadline January 6, 2027.
