Parking reminders
Please do not park in the 5-minute loading zone on Porter. This area is designated for special needs buses and for student drop-off and pick-up only.
When parking in the surrounding community, we also ask that you be respectful of our neighbours and not block driveways.
Please note that the City of Saskatoon may issue tickets in these situations.

School Fees
Updated account statements for student fees have been sent home. A reminder that these can be paid through www.myschoolbucks.ca via credit card, or at the main office (schools days from 8am - 4pm) using debit, cheque or cash.

Last year’s yearbook (2024-2025)
If you paid for a yearbook last year, there is an insert page for you at the office. This is to rectify an issue with some missed photos and names on the Grade 9 honour roll list. We sincerely apologize for these errors/omissions. Please come to the main office to pick up your yearbook insert.
Youth Study Group
Free Tutoring - Youth Study Group - after school Every Wednesday 3:30-5:30 in the Library at Holy Cross. Everyone is welcome!
Homework Hall Tutorial
Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place each lunch hour in Room 341 (Mr. Heath's room). All students are welcome to attend.

SRC
SRC Applications
The applications for Crusader Crew are now being accepted. Please use the QR code located on the SRC room door and various other locations around the school to apply. Crusader Crew is a very important group of volunteers on the SRC and next year all members of the Crusader Crew will have the opportunity to join committees to help out in various different aspects of SRC. Highly motivated, creative and outgoing individuals are encouraged to apply. Please see Mrs. Buzinski or any of the other SRC advisors if you have any questions.
We are also extending our applications for Pep Rally coordinator. We would welcome all of next year's grade 12s to think about applying for this position as we need highly energetic people to lead our pep rallies. Any interested students with or without SRC experience are invited to an information meeting in Mrs. Buzinski's room this Friday. If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Buzinski for the details of the meeting.
CAP Opportunities
Holy Spirit Parish is looking for student volunteers for the following days:
- Saturday, June 13 1:00-4:00pm – Family Day Prep
2. Sunday, June 14, 2-hour blocks starting at 9:00am and running to 5:00pm – Family Day. There are many, many areas, including running games, concessions, helping in the kitchen, bussing tables, face painting, etc.
3. Sunday, August 23, Golf and Dine Event by the K of C. They need dishwashers and bussers for the dinner at Holy Spirit from 3:30 to 8:15 in the evening. Perhaps students want to look ahead to service hours for next year?
4. Random 2 hours slots doing paperwork, cleaning and organizing.

Graduation
Attention Grade 12s
Please check Edsby for Valedictorian and Salutatorian criteria, process and application.
Application deadline is Thursday, May 21 by 3:30pm (no late applications will be accepted).
Important Grade 12 Graduation Dates and Reminders
Grade 12 Retreat - A reminder to Grade 12 students that the Grade 12 Retreat is on Wednesday, June 3 at Holy Spirit Parish. Please meet in the Holy Spirit Hall at 9:00am for attendance. Lunch is provided and there will be gluten free and vegetarian options. If you have additional food restrictions, please fill out the sheet at the main office. An important reminder is that attendance for the retreat is mandatory as a part of graduation requirements. If you have a conflict for a legitimate reason, please see Ms. Hayes by Friday, May 29. There will be a retreat package to complete if you are away. Grad gown distribution will be at the end of the retreat for students who have paid their fees.
Monday, June 1, 2026 - Grade 12 Honour Roll will be calculated on this date. No extensions.
Wednesday, June 3, 2026 - Grade 12 Retreat - All graduates must attend.
Friday, June 12, 2026 – Spring Awards (Period 3) in the theatre – Those involved will receive an invitation.
Friday, June 19, 2026 – Grad Rehearsal in the theatre at 12:30. All graduates must attend.
Thursday, June 25, 2026 – Graduation Ceremony at Merlis Belsher at 1:30pm (school organized). Graduates need to be there to line up by 12:45. Seating is first come first serve. No limit on number of people that attend.
Thursday, June 25, 2026 – Graduation Banquet and After Grad (parent organized) at Prairieland Hall D.
Senior Assassin
Please note that this is not a school-sponsored activity.
The activity must take place outside of the school and not on school property.
Students should not bring items connected to the activity into the school, including (but not limited to) water guns, goggles, or other water-related toys.

There is an after-school class beginning May 25th and there is still room for more students. Please sign up as soon as possible if you are interested.

Holy Cross Youth Alliance
This group is for our 2SLGBTQ+ Students and Allies! It focuses on advocacy and support for all our students and staff here, regardless of their identity. We meet every Thursday during noon hour in room 361. Join us for our 10th year of being a club at Holy Cross, a school where everyone belongs! ❤️

Congratulations to the track team who braved the cold, the wind, and the rain last night. I am so proud of you all and how, no matter what, you all did your best despite great difficulty. It was so cold!!

Holy Cross Athletic Awards Ceremony
Calling all Grade 11 and 12 Senior Team athletes, we will be having a quick meeting on Wednesday, May 20th at lunch in the North Gym to provide details for the upcoming Athletic Awards Ceremony. We ask that you please attend this meeting if you played on a senior athletic team this year.

U-Start pre-orientation activities in May and June: Colleges and student services at USask offer in-person and online activities starting next month designed to support new students' transition to university and prepare them for their next most important step: class registration. This year, first-year class registration opens on Saturday, June 13.
By participating in U-Start, new students can prepare with confidence and learn:
· how to choose and register for classes,
· how they can get a head start,
· where to find help, and what else they need to know before September.
The University of Ottawa, in partnership with Color In Practice, presents the annual Bled Future Achievers Leadership Forum, a 5‑day interactive leadership experience for 14 Black and Indigenous youth leaders (ages 14–18) from across Canada. The forum will take place in Ottawa from July 12–18, 2026. The Forum is all expenses paid, and includes Transportation to and from Ottawa, Transportation during the forum, Accommodation and meals, Relevant activities and programming, A safe and inclusive environment where everyone is welcome.

May 19 & 20th - USask/STM Advising- Gr. 12 students who are going into the College of Arts & Science at the University of Saskatchewan and would like help with choosing classes for the Fall (this includes pre-professional programs like nursing, pharmacy & dentistry), an advisor from STM is coming to Holy Cross. Come to Student Services to book an advising session!
Safe Navigators: Raising Kids in the Digital Age – Wednesday, June 18th @ 12 noon – 1pm
SSAIC Online Learning Workshop: This presentation will cover strategies for caregivers, educators, and other invested adults on how to have open, honest conversations with youth to help them recognize risks, set boundaries, and protect themselves in digital spaces. Finally, we will discuss steps for both youth and parents to take if they experience or suspect online sexualized violence, including how to report abuse and access available resources and support networks.
May 26 - RISE To My Business: Student Era is a fun, engaging, and educational one‑day program designed to inspire high school students to explore entrepreneurship and business skills in an interactive environment. Throughout the day, students will participate in hands‑on activities and practical learning experiences that encourage creativity, problem‑solving, and confidence building.
"Blueprint for a Story" Free 2-day Workshop
Anyone who's wanted to learn more about screenwriting for film or TV (or just wanted to kickstart their imaginations) is welcome to attend. Workshops are Saturday May 23rd & May 30th. Registration is capped at 25, so be sure to register soon. Lead by Dr. Adam Pottle.
School Nurse
Our school nurse is Jenna, RN, BSN, IBCLC. She is here at Holy Cross High School on Monday afternoons from 12:30 – 4:00 pm. All visits with the school nurse are confidential. The school nurse can help you with:
- Confidential one-on-one student support with medical & health related matters.
- Referrals to other community agencies/supports.
- General First Aid
- Confidential pregnancy testing and other supports as needed.
- Students are also able to text the school nurse at 306-230-2483.
Look for the School Nurse sign in the school hallway and stop in to say hello!
