Yearbook Meeting - TODAY

Attention to all yearbook crew and anyone interested in joining yearbook" No experience needed to join! We will be having a meeting TODAY at lunch in room 322 (The Mac Lab). Come help shape our school memories for the year!

 

Jessica from Big Brothers Big Sisters will be in the cafeteria TODAY over lunch if you have any questions about the Teen Mentoring of Pumped for Postsecondary programs.


NOVENA FOR PEACE IN UKRAINE: Please join us TODAY at 12:25 in the Chapel, we will be praying a Novena for peace in Ukraine.  Today will be Day 5 of the 9 days of Prayer.  Please join us for as many days as you can to pray that peace will be restored in Ukraine, and that all families can be safely reunited.  We pray to the Lord, Lord hear our prayer. 

 

Student Volunteers needed for Basketball games at Holy Cross:

Math Contest

If you are planning on participating in the next math contest, please make sure your fee is paid by tomorrow at lunch.

Staff and students are invited to provide baking for the "Fruits and Vegetables of the Earth" bake sale to raise money to purchase our Crusader Acre.  The muffins/cookies/tarts/brownies MUST have something in them that is grown locally. Examples are: zucchini, rhubarb, carrots, beets, strawberries, raspberries, Saskatoon berries, pumpkin, lentils, (have you ever tried Chocolate lentil Brownies?? 😋) poppy seeds, apples, …. I know there are more. These should be delivered to Holy Cross on Thursday, March 12 (Day 1 of the Bake Sale).  Please see Mrs. Dale for more details.  You can earn CAP hours with this project.  


School Fees

On Monday, February 9, we sent home updated account statements for student fees.

A reminder that these can be paid through www.myschoolbucks.ca via credit card, or at the main office (schools days from 8am - 4pm) using cash, cheque or cash.

Chapel News

Jesus is now present in the tabernacle in the Chapel. The reserved consecrated eucharist from our school Mass on Jan. 21 is in the tabernacle, and you will notice that the tabernacle light is on. Please keep this in mind when you are visiting our Chapel for

prayer or reflection. God bless you.


2025-26 Media Release Forms – Only 72% completed!!

This is a reminder that Student Media Release forms must be completed ASAP.

The form must be filled out by a parent/guardian; one per student attending Holy Cross.

Youth Study Group

Free Tutoring - Youth Study Group - after school Every Wednesday 3:30-5:30 in the Library at Holy Cross. Everyone is welcome!


Homework Hall Tutorial  

Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place each lunch hour in Room 341 (Mr. Heath's room). All students are welcome to attend. 

 

SRC Events

School Wars March 2nd – 6th

Not only is Holy Cross a great Catholic school, but it is also the BEST CATHOLIC school in Saskatoon! To prove this, Holy Cross High School will be participating in the first ever school wars competition between St Joseph, Ed Feehan, Bethlehem, Bishop James Mahoney. Starting next week March 2nd- March 6th, we will be keeping score student participation in the following spirit days,

 

Tuesday: Jersey Day

Wednesday: Decades Day

Thursday: Adam Sandler Day

Friday: School Merch/School Colours Day

Teachers, brush up your math skills. Students, kick up your school spirit. Holy Cross is here to win!

Clubs 

Holy Cross Youth Alliance 

This group is for our 2SLGBTQ+ Students and Allies! It focuses on advocacy and support for all our students and staff here, regardless of their identity. We meet every Thursday during noon hour in room 361. Join us for our 10th year of being a club at Holy Cross, a school where everyone belongs! ❤️ 

 

Games Club 

All those students interested in playing board games and card games over lunch hour are invited to come out and play in Room 122 Tuesday – Friday. If you do not know how to play, you will learn. See Mr. Allen for more information.


Chess Club

Chess club has moved to room 377 in the new portables. All levels of skill are welcome.

Today is the last day to sign up for the GSCS chess tournament at St. Joes this Saturday. 

Please come see Mr. Plaskett in room 377 at lunch if you would like to attend.

 

GSCS Open Chess Tournament

Saturday, March 7th | 10:30 am – 3:00 pm St. Joseph High School

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

● Players of all levels are welcome! Sign up in one of two divisions: Knight (Beginner) or Rook (Experienced). All players will have the chance to win door prizes!

● Games will have a time limit of 10 minutes per player. Every player will have the

opportunity to play a minimum of 4 games. The top Rook players will then be entered into an elimination bracket to play for first place.

● Admission is $5. Please pay your chess advisor ASAP. Admission includes a pizza lunch (two slices of pizza, a drink, and a snack). Let your chess advisor know if you have any dietary restrictions.

● You must arrange for your own ride to and from the tournament.

Lenten 40 Runners & Walkers!  It was awesome to see so many students and staff at the informational meeting this week in Mr. Malin's room!  If you have your team, you can go ahead and register online. Feel free to pop by room 103 at any time to connect with Mr. Malin if you have questions or were unable to make the meeting and are interesting in running with Team Holy Cross!  You can also connect with Mrs. Regier at the main office. To all those participating - stay tuned for a meeting time announcement closer to the event that will be communicated in student notices.

School Nurse

Our school nurse is Jenna, RN, BSN, IBCLC. She is here at Holy Cross High School on Monday afternoons from 12:30 – 4:00 pm. All visits with the school nurse are confidential. The school nurse can help you with:

  • Confidential one-on-one student supports with medical & health related matters.
  • Referrals to other community agencies/supports.
  • General First Aid
  • Confidential pregnancy testing and other supports as needed.
  • Students are also able to text the school nurse at 306-230-2483. Look for the School Nurse sign in the school hallway and stop in to say hello!
