The library will be closed to all students during period 3 starting February 6th to the 13th for Grad Applications and closed over the lunch hour on February 12th.
Math Contest
Anyone interested in signing up for Math contest on Feb 25 (Gr. 9-11), have money paid by end of TODAY!
Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition
Tuesday Feb 10th - Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition will be taking place in the South Gym at lunch. This competition is open to all students 14 years and under. The winning students will advance to further competitions where they can win prizes and represent Holy Cross.
Industrial Arts and Welding
All Projects must be picked up ASAP. Projects not picked up will be removed next week. Please make arrangements with you teacher if you cannot pick it up tomorrow.
Construction/Cabinetry 10 – LAST DAY
Semester 1 students please make arrangements to pick up your project TODAY.
Cultural Day – February 27th
On Friday, February 27th, we will be having a series of performances in the South Gym. We are looking for dancers, singers, and any other cultural performers to sign up and share their gifts.
Signup for Black History/ Futures Month Cultural performance! (Meetings - Feb 9-10)
Different cultures are strongly encouraged to sign-up for this event. Everyone is welcome. The sign-up sheet is so the organizers have an idea of what the performances would look like and the length of what you will do.
You are encouraged to come up with a dance, a song or more for the performance. This could be done in groups or individually. The goal is to best showcase your culture and talents. Once you sign up, you will be added to an Edsby group where you would have to send in your music and any other technical needs you have prior to the day (Friday, February 27th). INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!!! We would love to see lots of people!
Write your name/group members, your grade and what you would be showcasing. There would be two after school meeting days to discuss what that day would look like. Please ensure to sign up for one of the days. If you have any questions, ask Aderonke Fetuga, Tami Olabanji or Esther Ojo. The sign-up is beside Mr. Cratty’s classroom (room 249).

Chapel News
Jesus is now present in the tabernacle in the Chapel. The reserved consecrated eucharist from our school Mass on Jan. 21 is in the tabernacle, and you will notice that the tabernacle light is on. Please keep this in mind when you are visiting our Chapel for
prayer or reflection. God bless you.
2025-26 Media Release Forms – Only 68% completed!!
This is a reminder that Student Media Release forms must be completed ASAP.
The form must be filled out by a parent/guardian; one per student attending Holy Cross.

Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place each lunch hour in Room 341 (Mr. Heath's room). All students are welcome to attend.
CAP Opportunities
Coldest Night of the Year
On February 28, 2026, The Mustard Seed is hosting Coldest Night of the Year, a special fundraising 2km/5km walk to raise awareness and support for people experiencing homelessness in Saskatoon. We are looking for team captains who would gather 7-8 friends to walk with them, or individuals who would like to volunteer the day of the event.
Here are some ways to get involved:
- Register a team online at cnoy.org . During registration, select Saskatoon East https://cnoy.org/location/saskatooneast where you will find our charity listed. Once registered, invite team members. Any hours you put towards getting a team together counts as volunteer hours.
- Register to walk with us here Make sure you register to be a walker for Saskatoon East – The Mustard Seed.
- Not up for walking but want to help? Check out the volunteer positions here We need lots of volunteers to make this event successful and you can fulfill mandatory hours this way as well.

Clubs
Youth Alpha - TODAY
If you are interested in learning how to grow your relationship with God and find a Christ-centered community, join Youth Alpha in room 122 at lunch TODAY. We will follow a video series exploring the big questions of life, faith, and purpose from a Christian perspective. There will also be fun activities, discussions, and food! So don’t miss out! We will also have free pizza for the first people to attend and stay for the first meeting! For more information, please see Mr. Allen.
Bannock & Tea
Upcoming Semester 2 Bannock and Tea Dates:
We are making a few changes to the Bannock and Tea format for February! Please read the dates below carefully. All students and staff are welcome to join.

Rosary group
The Rosary will be prayed in the Chapel on Mondays at 12:15, rosaries and copies of the prayers will be provided.
Rosary making will begin after the February Break – we are waiting for supplies to arrive.
Holy Cross Youth Alliance
The Youth Alliance is back! This group is for our 2SLGBTQ+ Students and Allies! It focuses on advocacy and support for all our students and staff here, regardless of their identity. We meet every Thursday during noon hour in room 361. Join us for our 10th year of being a club at Holy Cross, a school where everyone belongs! ❤️
Book Club
We meet on the last Tuesday of every month during lunch in classroom 102. Bring your lunch and a list of your favorite books, and we’ll pick 2-3 to read for the month.
Games Club
All those students interested in playing board games and card games over lunch hour are invited to come out and play in Room 122 Tuesday – Friday. If you do not know how to play, you will learn. See Mr. Allen for more information.

Chess club has moved to room 377 in the new portables. All levels of skill are welcome.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
● Players of all levels are welcome! Sign up in one of two divisions: Knight (Beginner) or Rook (Experienced). All players will have the chance to win door prizes!
● Games will have a time limit of 10 minutes per player. Every player will have the
opportunity to play a minimum of 4 games. The top Rook players will then be entered into an elimination bracket to play for first place.
● Admission is $5. Please pay your chess advisor ASAP. Admission includes a pizza lunch (two slices of pizza, a drink, and a snack). Let your chess advisor know if you have any dietary restrictions.
● You must arrange for your own ride to and from the tournament.
