Math Contests
Those interested in the Euclid Math Contest (Gr. 12) and the Fryer/Galois/Hypatia (Gr. 9-11) there will be a sign-up meeting Wednesday at lunch in Room 365!
NOVENA FOR PEACE IN UKRAINE: Please join us today at 12:25 in the Chapel, we will be praying a Novena for peace in Ukraine. Today will be Day 2 of the 9 days of Prayer. Please join us for as many days as you can to pray that peace will be restored in Ukraine, and that all families can be safely reunited. We pray to the Lord, Lord hear our prayer.
Senior Jersey Challenge - Thursday, February 26th
Another 26th of the month! Keep up with the Senior Jersey Challenge and wear your jerseys this Thursday, February the 26th to show off senior pride!
Youth Alpha
There is a meeting on Thursday the 26th in room 122. If you are interested in learning how to grow your relationship with God and find a Christ-centered community, join Youth Alpha! We will follow a video series exploring the big questions of life, faith, and purpose from a Christian perspective. There will also be fun activities, discussions, and food, so don’t miss out!

On Monday, February 9, we sent home updated account statements for student fees.
A reminder that these can be paid through www.myschoolbucks.ca via credit card, or at the main office (schools days from 8am - 4pm) using cash, cheque or cash.

Chapel News
Jesus is now present in the tabernacle in the Chapel. The reserved consecrated eucharist from our school Mass on Jan. 21 is in the tabernacle, and you will notice that the tabernacle light is on. Please keep this in mind when you are visiting our Chapel for
prayer or reflection. God bless you.

Homework Hall Tutorial
Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place each lunch hour in Room 341 (Mr. Heath's room). All students are welcome to attend.
SRC Events
TODAY Compliment Board!
In support of anti-bullying day, students have chance to write a nice message for their friends on a board that will be hung somewhere in the school! Come to the SRC room at lunch to write a sweet note!
School Wars
Not only is Holy Cross a great Catholic school, but it is also the BEST CATHOLIC school in Saskatoon! To prove this, Holy Cross High School will be participating in the first ever school wars competition between St Joseph, Ed Feehan, Bethlehem, Bishop James Mahoney. Starting next week March 2nd- March 6th, we will be keeping score student participation in the following spirit days,

CAP Opportunities
Coldest Night of the Year
On February 28, 2026, The Mustard Seed is hosting Coldest Night of the Year, a special fundraising 2km/5km walk to raise awareness and support for people experiencing homelessness in Saskatoon. We are looking for team captains who would gather 7-8 friends to walk with them, or individuals who would like to volunteer the day of the event.
Here are some ways to get involved:
- Register a team online at cnoy.org . During registration, select Saskatoon East https://cnoy.org/location/saskatooneast where you will find our charity listed. Once registered, invite team members. Any hours you put towards getting a team together counts as volunteer hours.
- Register to walk with us here Make sure you register to be a walker for Saskatoon East – The Mustard Seed.

Bannock & Tea
Bannock and Tea event this week on Thursday February 26th in room 294 at lunch time. We will be discussing the teachings and protocol around Feasts and Round Dances. This is in preparation for the GSCS Feast and Round Dance on Wednesday March 11th. We are hoping to get a group to go to this event together. All students and staff welcome to attend Bannock and Tea this week!

Holy Cross Youth Alliance
This group is for our 2SLGBTQ+ Students and Allies! It focuses on advocacy and support for all our students and staff here, regardless of their identity. We meet every Thursday during noon hour in room 361. Join us for our 10th year of being a club at Holy Cross, a school where everyone belongs! ❤️
Games Club
All those students interested in playing board games and card games over lunch hour are invited to come out and play in Room 122 Tuesday – Friday. If you do not know how to play, you will learn. See Mr. Allen for more information.
Chess Club
Chess club has moved to room 377 in the new portables. All levels of skill are welcome.
GSCS Open Chess Tournament
Saturday, March 7th | 10:30 am – 3:00 pm St. Joseph High School
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
● Players of all levels are welcome! Sign up in one of two divisions: Knight (Beginner) or Rook (Experienced). All players will have the chance to win door prizes!
● Games will have a time limit of 10 minutes per player. Every player will have the
opportunity to play a minimum of 4 games. The top Rook players will then be entered into an elimination bracket to play for first place.
● Admission is $5. Please pay your chess advisor ASAP. Admission includes a pizza lunch (two slices of pizza, a drink, and a snack). Let your chess advisor know if you have any dietary restrictions.
● You must arrange for your own ride to and from the tournament.

Badminton Tryouts
The try-out schedule for badminton is as follows:
Wednesday Feb 25: Senior 3:30 pm for those who made it. The list of athletes who made it is posted outside room 138.

There will be an equipment handout for SMF Academy after school on Thursday February 26th. Meet in the North Gym right after period 5.
In the Community
Lenten 40 Runners & Walkers! It was awesome to see so many students and staff at the informational meeting this week in Mr. Malin's room! If you have your team, you can go ahead and register online. Feel free to pop by room 103 at any time to connect with Mr. Malin if you have questions or were unable to make the meeting and are interesting in running with Team Holy Cross! You can also connect with Mrs. Regier at the main office. To all those participating - stay tuned for a meeting time announcement closer to the event that will be communicated in student notices.

School Nurse
Our school nurse is Jenna, RN, BSN, IBCLC. She is here at Holy Cross High School on Monday afternoons from 12:30 – 4:00 pm. All visits with the school nurse are confidential. The school nurse can help you with:
- Confidential one-on-one student supports with medical & health related matters.
- Referrals to other community agencies/supports.
- General First Aid
- Confidential pregnancy testing and other supports as needed.
- Students are also able to text the school nurse at 306-230-2483. Look for the School Nurse sign in the school hallway and stop in to say hello!
