If you know of any other HC Olympians competing, please let us know at the office so we can give them a shout out as well.
School Fees
On Monday, February 9, we sent home updated account statements for student fees.
A reminder that these can be paid through www.myschoolbucks.ca via credit card, or at the main office (schools days from 8am - 4pm) using cash, cheque or cash.

Registration for 2026-27
Registration for 2026-2027 classes is now open on MSS for all Grade 9-11 Holy Cross students. For those students needing help, will be support after the February break over the lunch hour in Room 321.
Parent Registration Information Session
We will be having an information session Tuesday, February 24th at 7pm for parents so they can help their students register.
AP Presentation
Tuesday, Feb 24 - There will be an Advanced Placement presentation for students and parents at 8pm in the library.
Last Day to Drop Semester 2 classes is Friday April 24th.

Yearbook
Attention all Holy Cross Students interested in Yearbook! Do you have a passion for taking photos? Do you enjoy computer design? Do you want to have a hand in capturing the memories of the year so that everyone can look back on them? If you said yes to any of the above, consider joining the Yearbook team! If you said no, consider joining anyways! We will have a meeting Wednesday February 12th at the start of lunch in the Mac Lab (Room 354) to gauge interest and talk about the plan for yearbook! No experience necessary, everyone is welcome!
Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition - TODAY
Tuesday Feb 10th - Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition will be taking place in the South Gym at lunch. This competition is open to all students 14 years and under. The winning students will advance to further competitions where they can win prizes and represent Holy Cross.
Library News
The library will be closed to all students during period 3 starting February 6th to the 13th for Grad Applications and closed over the lunch hour on February 12th.
Holy Cross Clothing Sale
We will be selling Holy Cross merch at the main entrance of the school on Wednesday, February 11th at lunch. Come check it out!
Black History Month
Our next meeting is Thursday at lunch in room 249 (Mr. Cratty's room). Be sure to attend at the start of lunch since it will be our last meeting before the week begins! It will be important to have all our plans finalized and know if there is any more help needed! See Mr. Cratty if you cannot attend.

Cultural Day – February 27th Meeting TODAY
On Friday, February 27th, we will be having a series of performances in the South Gym. We are looking for dancers, singers, and any other cultural performers to sign up and share their gifts.
Signup for Black History/ Futures Month Cultural performance! (Meeting - Feb 10)
Different cultures are strongly encouraged to sign-up for this event. Everyone is welcome. The sign-up sheet is so the organizers have an idea of what the performances would look like and the length of what you will do.
You are encouraged to come up with a dance, a song or more for the performance. This could be done in groups or individually. The goal is to best showcase your culture and talents. Once you sign up, you will be added to an Edsby group where you would have to send in your music and any other technical needs you have prior to the day (Friday, February 27th). INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!!! We would love to see lots of people!
Write your name/group members, your grade and what you would be showcasing. There would be two after school meeting days to discuss what that day would look like. Please ensure to sign up for one of the days. If you have any questions, ask Aderonke Fetuga, Tami Olabanji or Esther Ojo. The sign-up is beside Mr. Cratty’s classroom (room 249).

Chapel News
Jesus is now present in the tabernacle in the Chapel. The reserved consecrated eucharist from our school Mass on Jan. 21 is in the tabernacle, and you will notice that the tabernacle light is on. Please keep this in mind when you are visiting our Chapel for
prayer or reflection. God bless you.

The form must be filled out by a parent/guardian; one per student attending Holy Cross.

Youth Study Group
Free Tutoring - Youth Study Group - after school Every Wednesday 3:30-5:30 in the Library at Holy Cross. Everyone is welcome!
Homework Hall Tutorial
Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place each lunch hour in Room 341 (Mr. Heath's room). All students are welcome to attend.
SRC
On Tuesday February 10th and Wednesday February 11th the SRC will be selling a "Crush for a Crush" at the SRC room in the commons both days at lunch. You can send your friends and/or crush a Crush for just $2. You must know the period 4 class of the person you are sending to.
Thursday February 12th is Red and White Day and Friday February 13th is Pajama Day, come dressed in the theme for both days and show your school spirit.
Cupid will be visiting Holy Cross on Thursday and Friday! If you find him, snap a photo, and bring your proof to the SRC room at lunch for a free Valentine's treat.
CAP Opportunities
Coldest Night of the Year
On February 28, 2026, The Mustard Seed is hosting Coldest Night of the Year, a special fundraising 2km/5km walk to raise awareness and support for people experiencing homelessness in Saskatoon. We are looking for team captains who would gather 7-8 friends to walk with them, or individuals who would like to volunteer the day of the event.
Here are some ways to get involved:
- Register a team online at cnoy.org . During registration, select Saskatoon East https://cnoy.org/location/saskatooneast where you will find our charity listed. Once registered, invite team members. Any hours you put towards getting a team together counts as volunteer hours.
- Register to walk with us here Make sure you register to be a walker for Saskatoon East – The Mustard Seed.
- Not up for walking but want to help? Check out the volunteer positions here We need lots of volunteers to make this event successful and you can fulfill mandatory hours this way as well.

Bible Club
Hey! Are you curious about any topic in the Bible or your faith in general? Join the Bible Club’s Group discussion on Thursday, Feb. 12 for a safe place to discuss these topics and learn how to make God the centre of your life, not just a part of your daily routine.

Book Club
We meet on the last Tuesday of every month during lunch in classroom 102. Bring your lunch and a list of your favorite books, and we’ll pick 2-3 to read for the month.
Rosary group
The Rosary will be prayed in the Chapel on Mondays at 12:15, rosaries and copies of the prayers will be provided.
Rosary making will begin after the February Break – we are waiting for supplies to arrive.
Bannock & Tea

Holy Cross Youth Alliance
This group is for our 2SLGBTQ+ Students and Allies! It focuses on advocacy and support for all our students and staff here, regardless of their identity. We meet every Thursday during noon hour in room 361. Join us for our 10th year of being a club at Holy Cross, a school where everyone belongs! ❤️
Games Club
All those students interested in playing board games and card games over lunch hour are invited to come out and play in Room 122 Tuesday – Friday. If you do not know how to play, you will learn. See Mr. Allen for more information.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
● Players of all levels are welcome! Sign up in one of two divisions: Knight (Beginner) or Rook (Experienced). All players will have the chance to win door prizes!
● Games will have a time limit of 10 minutes per player. Every player will have the
opportunity to play a minimum of 4 games. The top Rook players will then be entered into an elimination bracket to play for first place.
● Admission is $5. Please pay your chess advisor ASAP. Admission includes a pizza lunch (two slices of pizza, a drink, and a snack). Let your chess advisor know if you have any dietary restrictions.
● You must arrange for your own ride to and from the tournament.
