Locker Clean-Up

Please make sure to take out all food contents/containers and dirty clothes from your lockers prior to the Easter break.  Thank you for your cooperation!


Last year’s yearbook (2024-2025)

If you paid for a yearbook last year, there is an insert page for you at the office. This is to rectify an issue with some missed photos and names on the Grade 9 honour roll list. We sincerely apologize for these errors/omissions. 

Please come to the main office to pick up your yearbook insert.

 

Personal Stations of The Cross  

If you were absent when your class did the Stations of the Cross, or have a spare during your Grade's scheduled time, feel free to do the Stations on your own.  There are extra maps at the 1st Station by Room 235, and that is all that you need.  Don't feel like walking?  The Stations of the Cross are in our Chapel, as well as booklets of prayers for each station.  Feel free to take one of the Lent meditation books for some reflections during the Triduum.  Have a holy Holy Week, Holy Cross. 


School Fees

Updated account statements for student fees have been sent home. A reminder that these can be paid through www.myschoolbucks.ca via credit card, or at the main office (schools days from 8am - 4pm) using debit, cheque or cash.

Chapel News

Jesus is now present in the tabernacle in the Chapel. The reserved consecrated eucharist from our school Mass on Jan. 21 is in the tabernacle, and you will notice that the tabernacle light is on. Please keep this in mind when you are visiting our Chapel for

prayer or reflection. God bless you.


Youth Study Group

Free Tutoring - Youth Study Group - after school Every Wednesday 3:30-5:30 in the Library at Holy Cross. Everyone is welcome!


Homework Hall Tutorial  

Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place each lunch hour in Room 341 (Mr. Heath's room). All students are welcome to attend.

Jazz Band

There will be a Jazz Band Rehearsal at lunch TODAY. New members always welcome!

 

Grade 10 Band Students going to Edmonton after EasterTODAY is the last day to submit your behaviour contract – please do so today. It goes in the  You don’t get on the bus unless you have your form handed in.

Graduation

Attention Grade 12s

Date change - Please note we have moved the Midterm Mark and Learning Behaviours Assessment date to Monday, April 20th, and the deadline to drop a class date to April 30

 

A reminder that our midterm mark date is now on April 20th. Students eligible to graduate must be passing all classes required to graduate. Students must be passing and at the halfway point in any cyber classes needed for graduation. 

Please ensure you are keeping up with your assignments and classes!

Multicultural Week

We are excited to announce that our school will be celebrating Multicultural Week from April 27th to May 1st! This is a special time where we recognize, appreciate, and celebrate the many cultures that make up our school community. This week includes trivia activities, games, days to show off beautiful clothing, and the highlight of the week, our Food Festival! All of these events serve to demonstrate the diversity among our students and families of Holy Cross.

Interested in helping plan this event? Please put your name on one of the sign-up sheets found outside room 120 or the cooking lab.

Clubs 

Bible Club – TODAY 

Thursday, April 2nd, we will be having discussions and games. Come prepared with all your pressing questions about the faith and with a competitive spirit.  Meet in the Chapel at lunch.  Can't wait to see you all there.

 

Holy Cross Youth Alliance 

This group is for our 2SLGBTQ+ Students and Allies! It focuses on advocacy and support for all our students and staff here, regardless of their identity. We meet every Thursday during noon hour in room 361. Join us for our 10th year of being a club at Holy Cross, a school where everyone belongs! ❤️ 


Chess Club

Chess club has moved to room 377 in the new portables. All levels of skill are welcome.

Games Club 

All those students interested in playing board games and card games over lunch hour are invited to come out and play in Room 122 Tuesday – Friday. If you do not know how to play, you will learn. See Mr. Allen for more information.

 

Athletics

Saskatoon Track and Field Club will be offering a four-day training program for athletes looking to kick-start their track and field season. This opportunity is designed for those interested in enhancing their skills and preparing for the upcoming season. See the information sheet posted in the PE hallway for more information or see Mrs. Arthurs in the PE offices.


Crusader Intramural Floor Hockey League

Think you have what it takes to win the Crusader Cup?

  • League starts on April 13th.
  • Information on the bulletin boards by the Phys. Ed offices.

Hockey Stick Collection
Break your twig?  Blade no good?  Blade ready for street hockey?   Don’t throw it out!
We will take it if it has a shaft, and the blade is broken. We will put a new plastic blade on it and start sniping top cheddar!

Protein shake for student who brings in the most old hockey stick / shafts!  Teachers, you are welcome to join in on the contest… (no fiberglass sticks please - we are still digging splinters out of our hands from 1997)

SIEC - Try a Career Opportunities!! Grade 10-12

 

 

Saskatchewan Youth Internship Program – if you are looking for a summer job and are interested in pursuing the trades after high school this if for you! Applications are due Wednesday April 15th. 

 

Great Plains College in Warman is offering a full-time Continuing Care Assistant Program starting in January 2027. Applications open and Scholarships available.

 

SaskPolytech is hosting a Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology "Spend a Day" on Wednesday, April 15th. Registration is required.
