In 2026, awâsisak kâ-nîmîhtocik St. Francis School opened as the new home of Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools' Cree bilingual program.The journey for a replacement school began over a decade before its opening. With the help of many partnerships, and guided by Elders, the school is full of meaning and symbolism to help Indigenous students reclaim language, tradition and identity.
