As of September 30, 2026, enrolment for pre-kindergarten – Grade 12 students registered with Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools is 23,203, which is 152 more students compared to the same period in the 2025-26 school year and almost 6,000 more than a decade ago.

“The fact that parents and caregivers continue to choose Catholic education is a testament to the good work being done in our schools,” said Diane Boyko, Board of Education chair. “I’m really proud of the work our teachers and staff do to provide welcoming, faith-filled learning environments.”

Sustained growth over the past decade has presented challenges with space in some schools in growing neigbourhoods and municipalities. The last time GSCS added schools was in 2017, when six elementary schools were opened.

Five new GSCS schools have been announced and are in various stages of planning: St. Pier Giorgio Frassati High School in the Holmwood development are in east Saskatoon; elementary schools in the Brighton, Aspen Ridge and Kensington neighbourhoods of Saskatoon; and a middle/high school in Corman Park between the cities of Martensville and Warman.

“Facilities are important, and we will continue to work with the ministries of Education and SaskBuilds and Procurement for appropriate investment and timely construction of new schools,” added Boyko. “More important, though, is what happens in those schools, and that requires adequate, predictable and sustained funding for education.”

Enrolment data has been submitted to the Ministry of Education for verification and approval.
