In addition to benefiting from a wider range of career opportunities, students who study French perform better in their first language while learning Canada's other official language. They also learn other languages more easily, have access to more sources of information and develop a better appreciation of their own culture and other cultures.

Core French provides a solid base for students to build language skills by focusing on learning to use the language in real life situations. It is offered from Grade 1 to Grade 8 at St. Philip School.

French is taught 90 minutes per week in Grades 1 to 8. Core French helps students understand, use and appreciate the French language and provides them with a solid base on which to build their language skills.
