The Kindergarten program begins in September of each year. Your child is eligible for registration for the 2020-2021 school year if he or she turns five by January 31, 2021. Please stop by the school office to fill out a registration form.
Dear Kindergarten Families,
Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Patricia Serrano, and I am very excited to be your child's teacher in the fall. I feel that the first few years of school are the most important and I hope to be part of this journey with you to make it the most memorable one for you and your child.
The basic principles of Kindergarten are to enhance the early learning experiences of children and to strive to develop the whole child socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. The children in Kindergarten learn best through play- a natural and important activity for children. This is how they learn about the world.
The students have snack time every morning and afternoon. Please send a nutritious snack each day with your child. Students are expected to go outside for some playtime so they must be dressed appropriately.
Birthdays are always a special event for us all. If you wish to send a special treat to school to share with the class, please avoid sending anything with nuts due to peanut allergies.
Sharing time will begin in October (a note will follow in September)
Parents welcome both in and outside of the classroom for activities, reading and more! Please check at the office for a police record check form to be completed at no cost. No experience needed, just parental love and supportJ
I believe communication is key to a great family-teacher relationship. Please feel free to contact me at any time via email, phone, a note, or just pop by. I will be sending monthly newsletters to keep you informed on what we are doing in class and what things are coming up.
I am looking forward to providing your child with the best possible educations with the support of you, your child's first teacher. Please take time to discuss each school day with your child. Praise all work brought home and have a special place to display it. Your engagement and support will play an important part in your child's learning success.
Ms. P Serrano
