The Opening Doors program is designed to assist students from 14-to-19 years of age who have been unsuccessful in a mainstream school setting and have been absent from school for more than 4 months.
The program team assists students who are experiencing difficulties with academic performance, behaviour and attendance.
The small-scale setting in downtown Saskatoon is designed to help students feel valued and respected.
Students can ask to join the program or can be referred by the Ministry of Social Services; Corrections, Public Safety and Policing; Addiction Services; and Mental Health.
Students receive personal attention and assistance in dealing with their problems.
