School Bundle Project
The Government of Saskatchewan recently announced the team of companies that will build 12 new schools in Saskatoon, Martensville and Warman. The schools are scheduled to open in September 2017. Read the news release here.
Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools recently chose names for its new schools.
Holy Cross High School
This wide-ranging $19.2-million renovation includes a new school entrance and office, five new classrooms, a new gymnasium and new industrial arts centre, as well as relocation of the library and student commons. Mechanical and electrical upgrades have also been done in much of the building. Work is scheduled to wrap up in fall 2015.
Georges Vanier Catholic Fine Arts School
Students are enjoying a new dance studio, music room, art room and learning resource centre. Construction of a new gymnasium and renovation of existing classrooms also occurred during this $10.4-million project. Final details will be completed by fall 2015.
École St. Matthew School
This is an $11.3-million project to renovate and add space at this single-stream French Immersion school. In May 2015, students moved into the first phase of new classrooms at the school. Work is scheduled to continue into the 2015-2016 school year.
Holy Family Catholic School
Students began attending this new school, located in Saskatoon's Willowgrove neighbourhood, on March 9, 2015. Willowgrove Public School and community space, currently housing a child care, are also located on this site. The school's official grand opening was celebrated on June 17.
